Water Change Question

I normally change 10g every two weeks (almost). This involves setting up a tub next to the tank, filling it with the new water, and then pumping out the old water into a bucket (twice).

I think it would be easier and faster to change 5g every week. I would not have to set the tub and fill it. Is that OK to do?
