Stick with sand

Trust me my friend, the names are not important at all. I've own hundreds of different zoas and palys and don't know the name of a single one. In my opinion, they are a waste of valuable time. Mucho Reef |

Just stick with sand. Miracle mud isn't really good unless you wanna grow seagrasses and even then you wanna have a layer of mud with sand on top to keep a huge mess from happening.

MM works just fine. I used it for years in my 200 gal. I also believe that the thailand TOTM uses it. Its kinda expensive, because you are required to change half of it out each year. A DSB is cheaper and will keep your nutrients down. You might consider just running a RDSB. That way you can take it offline if there are issues down the road. If you decide to use MM, make sure you still run a skimmer. They use to state that protein skimmers were not to be used, but i found out that it really helps.
Yup, he uses it. Just read on page 8. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...5&pagenumber=8
