Skimmer During Cycle

While the tank is Cycling should I be skimming the water?

or should I wait for about 2 weeks or 3weeks before I start the skimmer?

Right now I have the Canister Running but not the skimmer..

You don't have too, but I would suggest it.

Whenever I cure live rock I run a skimmer and do water changes --- I want to limit the ammonia spike, so that the life on the rock -- which I paid good money for -- has a better chance of making it.

I would do at least 20% a week- more if it's practical.

You want to prevent as much nutrient buildup as possible and 10% a week isn't going to put much of a dent in the initial levels.
