will a 2x54W HO T5 ballast power 2 or 3 24W

like it says will a 2x54 power 2x24w?

will it over drive? not fire? just explode?

i know a icecap 660 will power any size bulbs up to 16ft but what about the quicktronic ballast? will the 2x54w version fire 2 bulbs of any size up to the 54 watters?

i have an icecap660 but dont know if it works, origingal owner said the ballst stopped working, upon inspection it appears a couple of the endcap wires are broken not sure that would effect the whole ballast or just those bulbs though...i bought it for the reflectors, endcaps, standoffs and wires anyway the ballast was thrown in...i really only want to fire two bulbs though and think the icecap would be overkill, so i am looking at a seller here with the 54w quictronic ballasts...not sure it will work for me like the icecap would though...
