can u have too much lighting ?

72 bow front i was thinking of putting 2 vho 110watts each and one 250 watt mh. posted this people are saying use 2 250 watt mh plus vho what do you guys think .

i had a 75gal with 2 Vho actinics and 3 175 watt MH's worked great.. had from clams to lps in it with no problems

Current Tank Info: in wall 170g starphire 48x24x36, 75 gallon sump w/dsb, MRC MR6 skimmer custom (in the works), 3-250watt MH 14k, 2-110 vho actinics, Aquacontroller jr, 1200gph closed loop, 2000gph return

Just from a light coverage point of view I think you would be better with 2 metal halide bulbs no matter what the wattage. If you center the bulb the ends of the tank do look darker. But, if you have a really good reflector and have the bulb positioned high enough you may be able to get away with it.

IM PURCHASING A 1/4 HP CHILLER TODAY . DO U TINKTHAT IS ENOUGH TO COOL TANK, I LIVE IN PHX TEMP IN HOUSE IS 82 ON REAL HOT DAYS ?
