Refugium idea
I have an Eshopps 75CS wet/dry filter. The sump area is tall but not very wide. I wanted to use the sump area as a refugium and drill the wall and add a 10 gallon aquarium as the sump. Then just put the return pump in the aquarium. Any good ideas? I want to keep all the current equipment. My return pump is a Danner model 3 rated at 350 gph. Keeps up fine now. What would you recommend putting in the refugium and doea it require a light?

As many different varieties of macro algae you can find. Chaeto seems to be the most readily available, and soaks up nutrients well. I feel that different types of algae take up different types of nutrients, so having a lot of variety just makes sense. Yes it does need a light. Not too much, but it does need some. An old T-8 flourescent bulb as close to 6500 Kelvin will be fine. If you have sand/rocks in it, Mangroves will do good for you too
