i have had bad luck with ALL starfish,,,missing fish, dead clams, and missing shrimps. the only starfish that seem to be truly harmless are the ones that are smaller than a dime

+1 on the serpent star. I have a banded serpent about 4" from tip to tip. He cruises at night and eats detritus but doesn't bother my fish or corals. He's more fun to watch/ more active than "regular" starfish IMO.

Another one for the serpent. I have a pretty good size serpent in my habitat(about 8 inches) and he doesn't bother anything. Very cool to watch at night though!

I have had great success with Serpant Stars, Some brittlestars & Fromia starfish. The key to success with the Linkia & Fromia is a very long (5+hours) acclimation time.

so the serpant stars will NOT bother any fish or corals, even the very smaller ones?
