Angry In search of a skimmer....

Ok long story short I need some help with a protein skimmer, I have a 150 gallon reef, not much in stock just yet but getting there. I was only running a 20 gallon wetdry/sump and was using a Aquic Medic Turboflotor skimmer from my local pet shop. Well I just upgraded to a 55 gallon sump where we doubled the flow rate and my skimmer is pulling nothing but pure water. I have tried everything to get it to work in the new configuation and have found someone that wants it so I am in need of another skimmer. I was thinking about the MSX200 but would that be enough for a 150 or would I have to go up higher? I am open to all suggestions of other skimmers too please.

Thanks!

I would check out the I-Tech skimmers. They are excellent skimmers and the best part is they are affordable. They are cone skimmers and really pull out the skimmate. There is a thread on here called "I-Tech skimmer club" there is all kinds of info on them. Most other skimmers that can come close are 40-50 % more money. They are built in the US.

A local store called "Fish And Other Ichthy Things" sells them. If you would like any more info on them you can contact ichthyman@ichthythings.com I have the I-Tech small (100) and I'm going to run it on my 90 gallon tank. This months tank of the month is running one as well.

The bottom is removable so you can clean the skimmer well.

Check them out. They are really nice.

Chris

I second a I-Tech skimmer, they are almost scary when they are churning the nog.
