spiral compact florecent

anyone tried to grow any corals or any livestock with those spiral light bulbs

Many people grow macro under them (myself included) I'm sure you could support some other lower light demanding livestock as well, but the color is rather poor for a display IMO.

also going too use actinics just curious if things will grow under these bulbs

i use them in my sump. i know they grow coraline,xenia,and mangroves.........

i used to run two in a stock plastic hood on my first ten gal. i kept shrooms and zoas alive with a little growth but its hard to find bulbs that arent really yellow. cheap to replace them though !
