outdoor metal halide ballast

I have a freind that works in construction and is working on a building that had a couple extra out door lights in the basement overstock room. Its is 175w mh ballast with what looks like a single ended mogul socket. could i use it with a new bulb and reflector?

yep, sure can!

I've been scrounging for MH lighting for years at second hand stores and yard sales, etc.

More recently at the Habiitat for Humanity resale store. I've found there 250 watt MH core and coil ballasts in outdoor fixtures for 25 dollars. I'm using some reflectors now that came from some of those units.
