what is the best way to ensure that my calcium levels stay constant.

Drip Kalkwasser, and dose 2 part, or get a Kalk Reactor

If you have the money and room, a kalk reactor for sure. If you want to be more hands on, a good test kit and a good two part. cheaper that way too.

Test your water so you know what your levels are.

Kalkwasser is an ez and cheap way to maintain ca levels. You can add it to an auto topoff system.

As Reefbox said, the first step is testing. The rest really depends on your calcium demand, which is going to depend on the type and amount of corals you have. This article should help:
