Basement sump???
HI I have a 150 T puffer tank on my main level. I have a 125 in the basement. I don't know how much it drains and also what kind of pump I would need. I was looking at the barracuda or the hammerhead. Also has anyone used both the drain as return to get more flow. Any suggestions on bulkhead size. or tube size.

i have a 110 display with a 40 breeder for sump in the basement. i used all 4 holes (1" holes) for my drains, 2 are primairy and 2 are backup, the 2 primary have gate valves on them for the 'Herbie Method' . makes the overflows totally quiet because of the drop to the basement. i have 12' from the basement floor to the top of the tank, the return line is pvc to the top of the tank. i use the reeflow Tarpon for my return, no problem with flow, i actually have a relief line on the pump open some.
the reason for having the gatevalves is the drop to the sump causes a lot of micro bubbles in the sump, i have virtually none with the method. let me know if you need more ideas. |
