Too much flow for torch? (video)
I'm wondering if I've got too much flow going over my torch. Suggestions?

I think since you are asking you already know the answer. I would redirect the flow a bit. A simple flutter back and forth on the torch coral will not aggetate it. I had a similar flow at one time and found small head were breaking off..
So I would say slow it down a bit.

I had a hammer at one point, and I know that they like low flow. However on the live aquaria website it says the torch needs "medium" flow.

Here's a video that is 22 seconds long to really show how the flow is. What do you think? I really don't wanna take out a powerhead.

Could be worse, but i would redirect the flow so it receives less flow.

Mine have been in pretty good flow close to that for yrs and they have grown just fine as long as it keeps random during the day. They do not like constant direct flow. You will notice they will extend out better with med to lower flow than med to high flow.
I would say you would would be fine with the flow its in and possibly a little less if you can move it or redirect some flow. One quick way to see is turn off the PH for about 15 min and see if you get much better extension from the torch and if you do move some flow away from it.

Extension looks pretty good already. I'm with Phyxius on this.

I say leave it. I have a frogspawn about 24 inches from a Vortech. It will adapt to the flow (as long as it's not crazy high) and be quite content right where it is.

Looks good to me also. As long as it's not direct it will adjust. Looks extended in the clip. I would leave it.

my torch is much bigger and "relaxed" when I put it in lower flow. It seamed to tighten up a bit in more flow. Ive noticed the same thing with all my lps...hammer, frogspawn, flowrepot, etc...
