power head question

I was cleaning my power head that I purchased a few weeks ago and noticed that the magenet had grease on it. The power head says that it is designed for salt water. Will this grease cause any problems? I have used it to circulate my salt mix container.

Thanks

power head

The power head was only exposed to RO water and instant ocean in a new rubbermaid 20 gallon container.

IMO, I'd be cleaning whatever factory lubricants were on there before using. But, I wouldn't worry about it too much now.

Could still be slime, but doesn't matter, clean it with some vinegar.

One more question

Thanks everyone for the replys. I also noticed the buildup on the intake straner of the power head. It must be some type of sline. Do I use concetrated vinegar or do I need to dilute it?

Thanks

100% vinegar is just fine. I wouldn't dilute it more than 50/50.
