Blue Legged Hermit dead?

Ok, so I've had these 3 for about 2 weeks now and haven't seen any problems but today I could only find 2 of them. Then I found what looked like its legs but attached was a puffy white stuff like looked like flesh. Now I see all 3 of the crabs though and they're all fine and alive. What could that stuff be? Is one of them actually dead? and if so, is that going to harm my tank levels at all?

it has molted, get some larger empty shells for them to move into as they grow

Oh, I guess it just went back into its original shell then? Where do you buy new shells and how big should they be?

You should be able to get them at your local fish store, get several shells that are about the same size they are in, as well as a little bigger, they will figure out what they like

My fish store sells them in a small bag pretty cheaply. I have read that some people get them at the local craft stores. LOL, the first time mine molted I did the same thing but now he is in a much larger shell and doing well.

Ya my hermit crabs, each time they molt.

My god... they look as if they were the real deal!

Compared to shrimp you can tell it's molted. But a crap... wow...

My crabs molt at least once every 2 weeks.

Provide a good amount of shells for them, otherwise they'll fight eachother for the better shell.
