Bermuda Triangle Effect???

Has anyone experienced adding a new fish and then only to have it disappear after a few days? How about several fish over the course of a couple of years?

I would add the fish. He woud act happy,.... then poof gone!

Is there some underground meeting place for all these newbies? Do the other fish act like they enjoy his company only to "off" him as he sleeps? Or is it simply a Bermuda Triangle wherre there is no explanation.

Im bewildered!!! I have a well established 180g tank. Its been up for about 10 years and its contents were transferred from a smaller 75g tank I had for about 6 years. I have tried to add gobies, blennies, anthias, and a pleathera of other pleasant fish. I never saw any aggression from my current fish (Regal Tang, Sailfin Tang, Yellow Watchman, Yellow Tail Damsel, and Green Chromis, Tomato Clown). I have had them all for 8-10 years.

I guess as my last resort I will buy 5-6 of the same species and create a "herd". Kinda like survival of the fittest. I might end up with 1 or two.

I added a huge Chevron tang last year. Saw him one day. Had a five gallon bucket under the stand (not behind it). Found him in that about 3 months later. He was caked in salt, so that is why I never smelled him.

I've added other fish too. I just assume the fish mafia in my tank eliminate those they don't like. Never see bodies, so I assume they were thrown out of the tank.

Although I did add a swissguard and 3 blue chromis. Swissguard dissappeared for a month. One of the 3 chromis disappeared for 6 weeks and the suddenly popped up this Saturday.

Always checked behind the tree for that one forgotten about present. And as usual like Murphy's law, the present was always my sister's.
