Talking Frag tank question

I am plubing a frag tank into my exsiting system, and I was wondering should I put rock, sand or just lever it bare bottom. Please all advice is welcome.

If you have enough rock in your existing system for filtration, you could leave it open to allow for better flow control. I recently set up a 40 breeder as a frag tank. I did put some live rock and live sand in it. I'm wishing now that I'd left out the sand. The rock is needed though, as this system is on it's own.
