Euro Reef RS 80
I was wondering if this skimmer would be large enough for a 72 gal bowfront. It is a reef tank..mostly zoas, soft coral, and lps. Is this a decent skimmer for $75?

for $ 75 it is a sure deal ...
if fish load in your tank is light , will work well for you...

I think you'll be OK and for $75 I'd def give it a go. From my experience ER skimmers are conservatively rated if you have a reasonable bioload. I think you would be very happy with that skimmer. If not there's no question you'd be able to sell it for what you paid for it (if not more).
I run a CS135 on about 120 gallons total w/ light to med bio-load and I seriously think I could drop down to an 80 and still be fine. I think the thing that makes the most difference though is always keeping it clean so it's running at peak efficiency. |

What about with a lot of fish? Is the factory pump decent. Do you get thick skimmate. I was also looking at the bubble magus. What do y'all think?

i have a 72 bowfront with a rs80 euro reef i have 20 corals , no fish bbbecause of an ich problem when i first started . in my opinion this is probably the perfect skimmer for this tank it works flawlessly and it would be hard to fit a bigger skimmer in the sump/ refuge . i really never see myself needing a different skimmer forb this tank.

I upgraded my pump to the sedra 5000 and this skimmer is a now beast. I can fill the cup with dark skimmate in a day or two. I have 100+ gallons w/ average bioload
