New maxijet utility 5500
Just connected my new return pump after letting it run in my 25 gallon top off resevior for about 6 hours and I must say this thing is extremely quiet and barely raised the temp inside my container. It is now up and running in my sump and wow what a difference. No rattling or vibration like the Mag-12 it replaced.Hopefully all stays well but with a 3 yr warranty I am not too worried.Hopefully you will all be seeing a mag-12 for sale thread soon.

It's good to see some feed back on these pumps. I have always like the maxijet powerheads.. These should be good too

i agree it is nice to see someone use one. they seem to be good pumps from what i have seen, but i have never actually ran one, but they run on really low wattage which is nice.

I run 3 maxi-jet 1200 in my tank as water flow, I love them, I know eveyone always talks about vortex, but for the price Ill take maxi-jet any day.

How can you compare maxi jets and vortechs? Vortechs are wide flow and maxi's are very thin flow pumps?

I think the OP was talking about the new Maxi Jet Utility Pumps. Completely different purpose than the powerheads and the Vortechs.
