Fish Problem

I just noticed that my clown fish is going from orange to black..... Its not fully black yet but few areas its starting to look darker. I tested the water and have no idea what could be causing this discoloration. I have two clowns and one looks to have more black than the other. Nitrate 0 Nitrite 0 Alkalinity 185 Ph 8.4 .... Anyone have any idea what the problem could be.......????

How long have you had the clowns?

Do you have any corals that could be stinging the clown?

I have a purple anem and a frog spawn. They tend to stay with the purple anem. I do not have anything else that could be stinging them, that I can think of...... Mostly polyps, clams, mushroom, gonia, acan, sponge, and candy cane.... Nothing that would sting.... Would that be the case of discoloration is because something is stinging it?

I have had the clowns for maybe half a year now. They are a mated pair.

Are they just black spots or are the black parts of their body expanding? You could have unknowingly purchased onyx clowns I suppose... are they percula or oscellaris or something else?

They look like a case of being stung by a anemone. According to that web site its okay just looks quite abnormal to the original orange color. I might just have to get rid of the anemone.
