Chiller Help!
Im looking for a chiller for my reef. Total water volume is around 120gal. What hp rating chiller do i need? Im planning on setting it to turn on at 82. The room temp can get into the hi 80's. I imagine it might have to bring tank temp down 4 to 8 degrees while ambient temp is in the hi 80's. Can anyone recomend some nice chillers?

I use an aqualogic, I have a 1/3hp on a 100G tk, you could go with a 1/4hp probably. There was not much diff in price when I bought mine soI went with the larger unit.

I live in LA too, and ran a 1/10th on my 75G with no problem when the room temp was 85-87, and I was running 2-250W halides and hot pump (Posidon P4). I would think a 1/4 would be fine for you.

Probably a 1/4 HP. The better brands seem to be: Tunze, JBJ Arctica, and Aqua Logic.
