My tanks progression.

its funny looking at my original tank.. i was so proud of it too.. but i used to dream about having a tank like i do now.. like the ones i used to drool over here on reefcentral.. I finally feel my tank is getting to a point where i can feel proud enough to show it here and to show where i came from to where im at now. So for now i will sit back and watch my corals grow.

When I first started getting serious, i upgraded from a 20g to this 33..

33 gallon Dec 2007

33 gallon June 2008

33 gallon Nov 2008

upgraded to 55 gallon nov 2008

55 gal jan 15 2009 - added more rock and some sps

55 gallon feb 4 2009 - added suncoral and coral growth is out of control.

Sold big leather, took tank in a different directions.

Feb 23 2009

Mar 11 2009

Great job and nice pics too. How did you take those pics to get the true colors like that? What did you use or what settings? Thanks

Cablemike,

Very Nice.............At the progression that your going, Why make the next step a 120 gallon ?? Get right to the 180 gallon that you really want !

Oh....by the way...hehehe, I just happen to have a brand new 180 gallon that might be for sale. Its been my winter project for the past two winters. I just cant find any time to do it.

I do water changes about once a month, i dont have a sump on this tank.. i have a very large canister filter which runs stricktly carbon.. i add 2 litres of carbon to the filter every month. I have a Prizm Deluxe skimmer and several pumps/powerheads. Lighting is comprised of one jbj 150hqi clip on unit and one coralife 150hqi clip on, and 2x 24" dual hagen T5HO units running Powerglo 18K bulbs and Marineglo Actinic bulbs. Its a simple setup which has worked great for me.. The only thing i dont like is the diatom outbreak but several people have told me its not unusual with a tank upgrade and its slowly going away.

Sure i'll take it as long as i can live in your garage with it.. because if i came home with it my wife would send me packing, hehe. we came to an agreement that the 90 will be the biggest I go.. but there was no mention about how many other tanks i could have
