Mangrove VS chaeto

I was wondering about my chaeto it was growing fine but as soon as i put my mangroves in. It stopped growing it is isolated from the cheato anyone else had this problem??

It's possible that the mangroves are outcompeting the chaeto for nutrient, basically starving it to death.

mangroves are very slow growing compared to cheato so they would not be a concern for outcompeting cheato. They also don't uptake the bulk of their nutrients from the water---rather from organics in the sand bed.
