tank temperature
my tank is normally about 78 degrees would it be bad if somtimes it got to about 82-84 with corals and fish?

4deg swing is not bad so 78 to 82 is ok
84 deg would be bad

the swing is not bad---rather keeping the fish at a higher temperature then their average temperature they have adapted to is where stress can occur. If this is a daily fluctuation then that is okay.

As long as they are accustomed to the swing, it's not a problem.
