Ice Cap VHO not turning on
I have a ICECAP ballast with four 48 inch 110 v bulbs connected. Since about 9PM yesterday the lights went out on their own and now they are not turning on.
I suspecting a burned bulb, would this cause all lights to go out? Unfortunately I am out of town this week. |

No, a single burned out bulb is not the cause. Check the wiring and the ballast's fuse. If everything looks good I would suspect a malfunction with the ballast. If that is the case you can contact Icecap on their forum.

I disagree. It could very easily be one of your bulbs. I replaced my bulbs on my 125 a while back, and the new ones would not turn on. After thinking i accidentally rewired it wrong, i put one of the old bulbs back in and voila... light! Turns out one of my new bulbs was bad. Try getting a new bulb and see if that doesn't fix it.

Thanks all,
I didn't know that an electronic ballast would be knocked out by a bad tube. Magnetics are hampered and the other bulbs flicker and never fully light but I didn't think that happened with an electronic. I stand corrected 007.

I as suspecting one of the bulbs has gone bad.
I will check the fuse as well. I will have to take all four bulbs to place that can test them if one of the bulbs is bad than I will get new one. I all bulbs are good, then I guess I will have to do more investigating. I will go back home this weekend, I guess corals will be fine without light for 4 days. |
