How much of a cycle...

Am I likely to get in my new 110 gal. I used about 80 lbs of rock straight form my 46 gal reef and the rest of the rock was dry dead rock. The sand is half well rinsed and dried used and the other half is new dead sand. I'm aware it will take a couple weeks for the dead stuff to go live. But, I'm wondering how much of a cycle I'll get this way. Will I be able to add corals soon? My corals are suffering greatly in the psuedo frag tank they are in.

If you used 80lbs established LR I would say little to almost no cycle.
I would test for amo/nitrite, and if 0 I would transfer corals, especially if you feel they are already suffering in temp tank.
I would expect maybe some nitrates, maybe green or cyano algaes, and would be dilligent on WC's w/ good RO/DI.

That's kind of what i figured. And yes....I've lost alot of corals in this process. The temp tank was just supposed to be a couple weeks. Set backs made it turn into a couple months. Should have left them in the 46 gal where they were happy. But at the time...I thought I would have the big boy up and running right away.
The algae blooms I'm not worried about. And the more I think about it...the likelyhood of a huge amonia/nitrite spike is minimal if nil. So, maybe I'll transfer a few things over and find a coral sitter for the stuff I'm really worried about.
Thanks.
The algae blooms I can deal with. Been there done that. LOL
