humming sound

this morning when my halides cut on i noticed that one of the ballast was humming kinda loud and the bulb wasnt as bright as t he other is this a problem in the making 250 watt pfo ballast with blue life sps bulbs

Did it last very long?

Many MH bulb/ballast combos take a few minutes to light and warm up. I wouldn't worry about it unless it lasted more than a few minutes.

yes its still humming and isnt bright as the other bulb yet

It could be the bulb or the ballast (I’m sure you knew this). If your lights are the same, try switching the two bulbs and see if the humming comes from the other ballast (bad bulb) or the same ballast (bad ballast). Remember to never touch the bulb with your fingers, the oil on your hands cause the bulb to break.

i switched the bulbs around and it doing the same thing to the other bulb too you know the sound a ballast makes when firing the bulb thats the sound its making all the time.

Sounds like you've got a ballast that's about to go out on you.

Yes they are the lfs where i got them from the guy said i can bring them back for repair what would yal do
