more or less whats the average temp on your tank?

Also, what do you think about placing a fan on the sump instead?

my outer orbit is about 6 to 8 inches from the water with the the factory legs provided by current.......is 10 inches really manufacture's recommendation for a 150 watt MH? I really hate the 10k bulb that comes with the light when you buy it from Current. Thinking about a 14k. Does anyone know how much growth I will lose if I go to 20k with my corals?

You have the benefit of having a room at 69 degrees!

My normal room temperature is ~75 F

The reason I asked was because I had my MH fixture just on the legs it came with which had it at about 4.5'' from the water and with that the temperature would shoot up to 86 degrees! And with a fan blowing across the sump it would be around 82 and 84. I now have it at ~10 inches from the water and the temp for the whole day remained between 80 and 82 without a fan.

79-82F. 79 winter and 82 summer. A fan on the sump would probably work well. The more surface area it blows across the more it will evaporate and cool the tank.
