clam growth
I have a ultra blue maxima clam that i just love. I have had it for about 2.5 mnths now and am noticing some type of groths on the shell surrounding the clam. They look (center heads with tenticals coming off, color is clearish) not sure what they are any one know what likes to growth of of clams shells?

digital is broken, but unfortunatly i think you hit it right on the head. Does any thing eat these? Or are they harmful?

Sounds like aptasia to me. I have notice latley every clam I see at the stores have aptasia all over the shells, this is why I have been holding off on getting one for now.

Pepermint shrimp have worked in the past for me on eating the aptasia, but it is a hit or miss with them. I am not sure if shooting them with some aptasia-X or joes juice can bee done on a clam. Try posting in the clam section forum to get some advice from the pro clammers there.
