redsea max 250
anyone know much about this tank.im thinking about getting one but wanted some feed back from someone who has one..

it looks a nice tank, we call them plug and play, there are disadvantages to these as you are supplied with the kit that comes with the tank and its basic really, in the end i decided against 1 as i prefer to add my own skimmer and pumps. in saying this the closed loop pump that comes with the 250 is pretty cool, i still think you would need a nano ph as well and im unsure as to the quality of the built in skimmer. i have heard that they are ok, better than previously thought but still a basic skimmer that may not be adequate for a full blown reef. the 6 tube fluorescent lighting has a nice option of timers built in to the side but only 1 large reflector over the 6, i would have prefered more light output. all in all though if you want a simple reef, a few soft corals a pair of clowns a couple of cleaner shrimps etc then i think it will be fine. if you get 1 let us know about the build, the very best of luck
