Water spikes

How soon will your tank show a spike? I have Set a new tank up for a week and all shows zero! I have a 45 gal with 40 lbs live sand, 15 lbs base and 10 lbs live rock.

Was the live rock cured? you might not notice a cycle due to the live sand and cured live rock. Keep checking it for another week to see if you get anything.

The rock came out of a tank that was set up for a couple of years

Yeah you may only get a mild cycle if any at all. give it time to be 100% sure.
