Colt coral secretions???

Are some colt coral species known to emit an unusual amount of "mucus"? It almost seems to be an algae once it covers my substrate and liverock. When I clean my tank it seems to be stirred up and then settles like a dust resembling cobwebs. Any info is appreciated, thank you in advance.
