Skimmer cup cleaning...more or less?

Hi guys,

I know the obvious answer here is to keep your skimmer cup clean to so the skimmer can perform at optimal level all the time. I am beginning to wonder if this is really true. I used to clean my skimmer cup 2-3x per week. Since I have started cleaning it once a week, it seems I am getting a lot more skimmate. Whats your take on this?

Alot of people have different opinions. I typically have outcome you do. I used to clean the cup once every few days. Now i clean it maybe once a week or 2 and i have alot more skimmate

It's hard to say if it's just the way it looks or if you're actually pulling more from not cleaning it as often. The logic seems to support the more frequent cleanings though, just based on that they seem to be able to perform more efficiently.
