Grounding Probe & pH ?

I recently added a grounding probe to my tank and now my pH readings are about 3 points higher than they should be, reading somewhere in the 11 range. I unplugged and plugged in many things and discovered it only happens when I connect the cable from my reefkeeper2 to my laptop to run the myReef software. If I unplug the cable from my laptop, or I unplug the grounding probe the reading will go back down to 8?? Does this sound right?
