ATI 8x80W Dimmable PM...What bulbs to buy??

Hey guys,

Looking to put in an order tomorrow for some bulbs but need your advice. It's for a future SPS tank with a few LPS and softies. Tank is 66"x24"x22"

They are to be used on the ATI 8x80W dimmable power module.

Since I'm in HKG I'd like to buy in bulk to save money. Plus I get a discount on only the following bulbs.

Thinking of ordering 16 in total...

(x7) ATI Aqua Blue Special
(x6) ATI Blue Plus
(x1) ATI Pro Colour
(x1) ATI Actinic
(x1) KZ Fiji Purple
(x?) KZ NG

I'd like to start with but have the ability to swap around
(front to back)
ATI B+
ATI Aqua Blue Special
ATI Aqua Blue Special
KZ Fiji Purple
ATI Aqua Blue Special
ATI B+
ATI Aqua Blue Special
ATI B+

Any help, advice will be great

i would much prefer the second combo, the procolor is a nasty looking pink bulb.

Hi Nick,

Sorry for the confusion. I only gave one combo option.

The (first) section is the number of bulbs of each that I was thinking of buying. Should I change the numbers around? I preferably don't want to buy replacements for a while.

Thanks

Okay, sounds good but not sure whether I can get the Aquascience 22K bulbs?

Any other suggestions instead of that?

Thanks Nick,

I'll find out whether they are available. Not sure though.

What about,

ATI Pro colour? (or is it too similar, but not as good as KZ purple)
ATI Actinic?

or maybe some other KZ bulbs?

the procolor is pink and bright it IMO ruins the look, the fiji purple is a nice white light with a red/purple spike that really adds pop.

or you can do 1x blue plus and 1x aquablue special

the KZ NG is pretty white, it overpowers the blue+

Everything is ordered now.

Out of interest. The new model 2009 model includes a universal ballast 100-280V (50/60 Hz) so I expect you guys in the US market will be interested in it!
