Cloudy water
Hi People,
This is my first reef tank after a FO marine tank. But something is going wrong I guess. I did a lot of reading about this subject, but non of them matches my problem. Its been nearly a month since I set up the tank. Here are the details of the tank: 210 gal. with 25 lbs ceramic rock and 4 inches of Natures Ocean live sand. Bubble King Deluxe 250 internal PS & Red Dragon 6500 for returning water in the sump. 2 x Tunze 6105 stream pumps. Phosban 150 reactor with Rowaphos inside. I gave you all the details so you could picture the whole situation. After the first week, the water was crystal clear, but after that the water became white cloudy. Sometimes you cant even see the opposite side of the tank. I have been running Rowaphos since the beginning of the set up. By the way, I used brightwell bacteria at first. Then I used MarcWeiss bacter boost. And I used Kent marine kH buffer one time while I was using Purple Up at the 2nd week of the setup. The next day, there was white stain on the glass and I had to clean it with razor. Actually the problem started after this I think. 1 week before, I used Nitrigon 1 to clear the water. Then I did some water change ( 25% ). But this didnt help. After that, I tried Grotech ReefClear. This didnt help either. So I turned on the UV light within the Teco chiller and is running for the last 2 days, but that helped only a little. Hence the tank is still cloudy. The water parameters as of today are as follow: Salinity:1024 pH:8 kH:7 ( this was around 8 or 9 till this week ) Calcium:450 Phosphate:0 Nitrate/Nitrite:0 Temperature: 25-26 C The tests are done with Tropic Marine. I tried to explain the situation as far as I could. I would appreciate if you could share your knowledge and experience with me. Thx in advance. Kerem |
