coral beauty scratching
had the fish over a month, all was well. Tonight right before the lights went out i saw it scratching on the sand and live rock.
any suggestions? There is no way i am going to be able to get it out of there without ripping my entire tank apart to fw dip it or anything (unless i get real lucky and catch it while feeding) all other fish in the tank seem fine. I didnt notice anything on the fish or loss of color, but didnt get a great look at it before the lights went out. |

I've had a royal gramma for almost a year that flashes on my LR sometimes, but she's clean, no parasites or anything. Maybe some fish just like it? Keep an eye on your coral beauty though just to make sure nothing develops

I have a coral beauty that does that also but it looks like it may be tearing algae off of the surface of the LR. Just keep and eye on it to be sure.

Flukes could be a possibility and they're common on angels. I believe there's a long thread about flukes in the disease forum.
