LED lighting??
Hi, I am looking into either MH, T5ho, or a combo of both for my 110 acrylic tank. In doing my research for these lights, I came across LED lighting and PFO's lawsuit. Then I came across this: http://ledwholesalers.com/store/inde...&productId=407
Anybody have any experience with this, or know something about it? |

i've emailed the manufacture, the LED are bridgelux, not sure how they compare to the LED's people are making, which are Cree or Luxion, but i dont think these lights put out enough for corals, maybe it's enough for soft corals and mushroom. should be fine with fish only.

You don't think they would suffice if I put 3 of them up in my 110? I also came across these: http://www.royalaquarium.com/ViewPro...ber=23DNLED-V2
These kinda look cool, and maybe if I got like 8 strips and 4 blue strips or something it might work. Any thoughts? |

well, i've read alot of post about LEDs, a lot of people are getting LED's that are putting out 90 or more lm/W, if you see the all white version of the fixture, it's about 3000lm, with 36 LEDs, which is like 36W, that's like 83lm/W, so, the blue white version you're asking about is only half white. so. you get the idea. but who knows, if you put 3 in row then i guess it might work, but it wouldnt be any cheaper than just buying and building the DIY LED that are more powerful, cree/lux. that's the only reason i did not buy this fixture. =)
