Octopus NW 150 - plumbers tape??
Finally getting around to opening up my new NW150 protein skimmer. I noticed the pump has a union - but I don't think there is a washer on this union. Do you guys use plumbers tape on the threads to ensure no leaks? Just curious what the norm is on this pump/skimmer.
P.S. I notice the pipes are not glued - I guess I have to glue them together as well?

Doah!!! Just had to open up the little baggie - there's the washer. Does anyone use plumbers tape on the pump?
I'd still like to know if anyone glues their pipes or what... not sure what kind of pressure we're talking about here.

you can use plumbers tape, but if you are running it in sump, there is no need to. Just tighten the union hand tight and you are good to go.

Thanks - but what about the pipes? Instructions are very limited.
