alternatives to the starboard?
has anyone tried something less expensive? maybe the material used in cutting boards? Looks like the same stuff

You can buy sheets of UHMWPE from Mcmaster Carr, which is effectively all starboard is, and its a fraction of the cost. I used it when I had a BB tank, and it was great... I just never came around on the BB look and went back to sand.
