Solana Lighting Options

Hello RC.......

Trying to decide between the following:

250 watt MH (20,000K XM bulb) Reef Optix pendant/ballast/etc fixture

OR

150 watt MH + 2x32 watt PC actinics.

link:

The latter comes with a nice hanging bracket assembly. I can get either fixture for about the same price.

Tank will be a mixed reef with everything from a Toadstool (only softy) up to clams and SPS..

Thanks!

I would do the 150 W with the option in getting the Radiums light bulbs in DE, going 250 would be nice but I think u might be needing a chiller, ( u might need it even with the 150W). Good luck.

I would have to get the stock 10000K bulb if I went with the 150 mh/pc combo fixture. At least for a bit.

I plan on getting a fan or two to keep the fixture cool regardless of which one I went with.

How about coral growth? Would the combo fixture be a lot less capable than the 250 mh?
