bristle starfish eating elegance coral?!

So I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it for my own eyes. I looked at my new elegance coral which I only got 2 days ago and my bristle star scooted up next to it, put one of its arms/tentacles inside of it and pulled itself up on top of it. It stayed there for about 1 minute, bit a small peice out of it and then moved away from it. My first thought was it will get stung and move away but that didn't seem to deter it from doing what it did. Should I worry about the bristle star dying? Im more concerned about my new elegance now that it is wounded. I took 2 pictures as it happened and will get those loaded up soon. What are everyones thoughts as to what I can expect?

Hmmm I don't know much about these, but aren't green stars NOT reef safe?
