Mandarin Question

I have had a mandarin for over a year and he has always been very fat but lately I have noticed he is a little slimmer. He is by no meens skinny just not as pudgy. I have a fuge that is stuffed full with LR rubble and cheato so in theory I should have plenty of pods, and the mandarin is the only pod eater. I also just re-did my rock scape and took out a lot of rock from my DT and have a much more open layout. Is this a cause of concern. I still always see him picking at the rock. Im just a little concerned because I have noticed he is a bit skinnier.
