LR Hitchiker -- What is It?
I have a 2-week old Solana, started with 40 pounds of live sand and 30 pounds of live rock. Tank is doing well, and the cycle is over.
Imagine my surprise this morning to see a 2-inch worm-like thing crawling along under one of my rocks. It looks like a centipede, only with white feet and what appear to be red and blue bands or spots on the dark body. I was able to get a quick picture before it crawled back into the rock (it moves pretty quickly). Any idea what it is? [D300, Nikkor 105mm Macro lens, 1/15 @ f/9, ISO 200] |

Bristle worm. Great clean up crew member. Just don't touch them as they will leave a billion little bristles in your fingers. It hurts. If it does happen soak the affected part in pure white vinegar, is will dissolve the bristles. If you have once chances are good you have more.

I made the mistake ONCE of reaching in my fuge & grabbing a piece of live rock that had, no lie, about 30 bristleworms on it, I swear my hand came in contact with every single 1!!(or at least it seemed thjat way)....needless to say, I never go in there without gloves now!!
