Flatworm advice

So I am upgrading my 38 cube to a 75 gallon. With my work on the 75 I havent noticed the flatworms.... ugh.

So my thought is this. Do I just do a flatworms dip with flatworm exit on everything before I transfer to the new tank or do I treat the current tank?

I think I should just do a 10 min dip in a five gallon container with flatworm exit then do a freshwater dip for 5 sec then direct to the 75 gallon...

Advise...?

Thanks

Search FWE (flat worm exit by Salifert). Read up on it. I treated my entire reef with 100% success and nothing lost. Great product IMO.

My brother just moved from a 29 to a 40 and what we did was to treat the tank the normal amount. Then we did a huge dose in a 5 gallon bucket, all the rocks and corals got "washed" in the bucket and then into fresh water. He has had no signs of flatworms in his new tank.

I also just treated my 14-gal with Flatworm exit. I only have shrimp and snails atm. I wanted to nip it in the bud before their population exploded. The only issue was that nassarious did not like it and looked like they were trying to crawl out of the tank.

I had to use a double dose. The flatworms did not seem to melt. They just died in place, stopped moving. Then started blowing around like tumbleweed so I assume they were dead. Water was slightly yellow so I did a 50% WC and threw in some carbon after 60 min.

How long did you leave it in? The instructions say that it should start working about 30 min. If no effect after 45 min add a 50% more dose. I had to do this and they stopped moving around 60 min. I thought about adding more to get them to dissolve but did not want to stress out the snails. My friend had his in about 75 min before he did his WC. His flatworms did the same thing. Just stopped moving and died in place.

At least it did not wipe out all my worms (bristle and spagetti) and pods like OOmed did 7 years ago.

I noticed that Premium Aquatics sells those flatworm eating nudi's. The only bad thing is that once it eats all the worms it dies so I have heard but if you have enough it may just be enough to manage the population.

You also need to re-dose a few times, a few weeks apart just to make sure. Always run carbon after and do a water change.

Thanks for the advice. I soaked everything in stages in a 5 gal aquarium dosed with flatworm exit. Then rinsed out in a 5 gal bucket of fresh salt water then put into display.

I figure that I left them for dead and any survivors will be treated in a week or two if needed. I will also add a six line wrasse down the road.
