Instant ocean master test kit

I have an IO master test kit. When I bought it was marked down because instructions were missing.

Hows do I test alk

All I have is an alkalinity reagent, There is no color chip for it. Should there be one???

the reagent is a small bottle with a dark yellow liquid.

Currently I am using a Red sea alk test and would like to verify my results with the IO kit if I can....

Thank you

Buy a set with directions. Salifert is the standard at a reasonable price.

IMO....if you try to compare the 2 kits. Thats not really going to work. Your going to get 2 different readings.....Then what test kit is the correct one.

I mostly use the Salifert kits. But I also have a API Reef kit. The API is ok for higher levels in ammonia, nitrates..but not so accurate for low levels. When I have tested with both kits, I get two different readings.

I stick with the Salifert kits.....the reason ???

My LFS uses the Salifert kits. With all of their customers, they go through the kits fast. So I know that there not old.

Every 4 to 6 weeks, I take some water & do my tests. Then I take that same water sample right away to my LFS & let them do the same tests. This way I can be sure that I'm getting the same readings.

Go to Drs Foster and Smith and find the Instant Ocean test kits. Click on it and an information box appears under the photograph of the test kit with three or four choices of information. Click "more information" and directions appear for each test.
