"cheapest" controller with email/SMS alert and web-based control/monitor

Which one?

there may be other options, but I'd say get a used AC jr (usually goes for $150 shipped with temp and ph probes) and then use my free software to get the web features and more.

Brilliant. Since I'm already running the ACjr I'll check it out. Thanks.

I was thinking of getting the rk lite level 3 because of its expandability am I missing something not getting the ac jr? Are they truly the same thing with different packaging?

You are missing the web capability of doughboy's program.

A pretty big thing to be missing in my book.

the program was out since april (announced in neptune forum here in RC).

I'm sure you'll like the apex.

I've been using it for several months now. If I could ever get Cox Cable to fix my internet, I would have it running all the time. As it is now, I haven't been running it for a month, as my internet connection has been on the fritz about 4 or 5 times a day.

It is a great program. The web server is exactly why I bought the AC Jr. It serves perfectly for my application.
