125g Lighting Question

i HAVE A NEW 125G TANK IM PUTTING UP. I HAVE A 4FT 300W MH LIGHT. CAN I USE THE MH LIGHT I HAVE. THE NEW TANK IS 6FT. MY 55G I HAVE THE LIGHT ON IS 4FT. I DONT HAVE THE MONEY RIGHT NEW TO BUY A 72 LIGHT. ALSO I WILL UPGRADE DOWN THE ROAD. ALSO IF ONLY DOING A MIXED REEF NO ARCO OF STONEY CORALS

If you are upgrading you most likely don't have enough corals to fill the 125. (Dont take that as a slam). I could be mistaken, but most don't, me included.

So yes, suspend your 48" light over your tank and keep all of your high light demand corals in the center until you can get a new light setup. MH lighting is more up and down and not broadcast as t5 lighting, but I think you will be fine.

When you upgrade, look for a light running 250s instead of 150 watt lights, you will be happy in the longrun.

thanks. Yeah. In my 55G i only have 6 corals. All soft ones. I think it will be fine for now
