What 250 watt bulb?
I currently run 250 watt XM 10k bulbs on my IceCap ballast. This is too yellow for me , wanting to go more on the blue side. I'm wanting opinion's for 14k-20k bulbs that people are running on an IceCap ballast. I know a lot of people are running Radium's but does this bulb fire on an IceCap ballast at the correct kelvin rating since your not over driving the bulb?

I happen to like the Hamilton 14K bulb. Nice blue/white color.

I am running Radiums on a 250 Watt Blue Line electronic ballast. I would think that most electronics would be similar.
They are a very nice blue where you may not even want to run actinics, but I do run 2X 160 Watt VHOs along w/ my Radiums. |

I have an Aquaconnect 14K SE run on my IceCap Electronic Ballast.
According to Sanjay's site, this bulb/ballast combination will provide the highest PAR value for a 250W 14K bulb. I really like the color, too. More expensive but worth it in my opinion. |

I have a Phoenix 14,000K bulb. I'd like it to be a bit brighter, but that could be me something else. Not really sure.

Give the EVC 14K or 20K a shot... You won't be disappointed! Many people here on RC have had great success with these lamps.
Hope this helps, Chad D. Bryant |

I've also heard good things about the EVC bulbs mentioned above. Currently I have AB 20K's and love the white/purple color. Costly bulbs though.

I feel like my 250 watt Phoenix isnt' as bright as my stock coralife 150 watt bulb..
It may be b/c the latter was a 10,000K (I think) but I'm not sure. The 250 should look a ton brighter, right?
