Thoughts on Red Slime Algae Remover, Safe?

Recently, I've been having a problem with red slime algae. It started a few weeks after replacing the bulbs in my light (3 Blue Plus, 1 Aquablue, 1 GE 6500, 1 White Actinic). My first step was to change the GFO in my reactor, plus adding a bit more. When that didn't help, I went "lights out" for three days. That took care of the problem- temporarily. As I have gradually brought the lighting cycle back to normal, the algae has started to return. It's not very noticeable when the lights come on. But, by the end of the day, you can see the algae and the bubbles, primarily on the upper rockwork.

I used red slime algae remover when I was running a FOWLER, and it took care of the problem. I now have a mixed reef and would like to know: Is it reef safe? Anyone have any other suggestions?

Yea whenever i have had that issue i have always used red slime. And it is reef safe. The only thing is when you dose your tank turn your protein skimmer off.It goes crazy if you dont. I would leave it off for a day then check every two hours when you turn it back.Thats what I have always had to do

if you don't run Carbon, it really messes with your filtration. I guess it only makes sense, as it has to go somewhere.

I was a week without a skimmer when I half dosed with the RedSlime Remover stuff. Then I got a couple media bags of Carbon, in a high flow area, and I was still 3 days before I could run it at the LOWEST skimmer setting... It REALLY worked though, just be aware of the havoc that is created. lol

I just did a REDSLIME dose. My tank has never been cleaner. Except when I dosed my 30 when it was up. Skimmer was off for a couple of days.
